a little bit about me…
Hi, its me, Tyla!
I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in the North East of England. My passion for photography began in my teens, leading me to study fine art photography at university. Following my degree, I naturally geared towards the wedding industry, where my love for documentary photography truly blossomed.
fun facts
I I’m a mam to the best two boys, doggo boys that is! Barney and Buddy are my beautiful Labradors who have my whole heart. Of course there is my husband, Charlie, too but he obviously comes in at third place.
III love to bake. I even applied for the bake off last year but unfortunately didn’t make the cut, there’s always next year!
IIII am very much a home body! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love a beach holiday but there is nothing better than being at home, wrapped in a blanket on the sofa with a cuppa and good book!
IIIIWedding days will be the only time you see me out past 9pm as I’m usually tucked up in bed ha
VCharlie and I have recently bought our first home, a 1930’s double bay windowed dream. So when I am not at weddings, you’ll find me teaching myself to be a carpenter, a tiler and generally to be a proper adult!
my approach
First things first, please do not worry about being nervous in front of the camera., its normal because lets be honest, its not everyday you have someone following you around with a camera all day! I will take time to get to know you both and ensure we meet prior to your special day so that you have a friendly face on the morning of your wedding when the nerves start to creep in.
Most of my work is candid, timeless & authentic, but of course I am also there for those all important family portraits. A long list of formal group portraits and staged shots aren’t really me but of course I am there to capture those all important main family & bridal party shots. I will have your list with me on the day so there is no need to worry about remembering who needs to be where and when, I’ve got you covered!
I believe that the images you will treasure the most in years to come are the candid 'in between' moments captured of you and your guests enjoying your wedding day.. I’ll mingle with your nearest and dearest so hopefully you won’t even notice me there.
When it comes to the two of you, I take you both on a little stroll around the beautiful grounds of your venue, allowing us to take in all its beauty! Providing you with a little guidance on poses to start off then we’ll see where that takes us.
I promise to make it fun and make you wonder what all the worry was about!

Finding a photographer for your wedding day is a huge decision to make. At the end of the day, they’re going to be someone you are in communication with prior to your day to discuss the ins and outs & will spend a lot of your day with them!
I’m not just the photographer, I’m the one to recommend a florist, a make up artist, an event stylist, the lot! The one who always has the spare bobby pins for any emergencies, who has ample amount of soft mints to calm those pre ceremony nerves and of course the extra bridesmaid/groomsmen you never asked for.
Most importantly, I will be your biggest hype girl pre, during and post wedding day!
